This Notification Circular includes notices that are required to be given to the public, submitters and appropriate government agencies, under the Food Standards Australia New Zealand Act 1991 (FSANZ Act).

Assessment has now commenced on the following applications. An opportunity to comment will be available at a later date which will be publicly notified.
General procedure
- Application A1227– Arabinofuranosidase enzyme from GM Trichoderma reesei: To permit a new source microorganism, being a genetically modified Trichoderma reesei, for the already permitted enzyme arabinofuranosidase.

- Application A1228– Xylanase enzyme from GM Trichoderma reesei: To permit a new source microorganism, being a genetically modified Trichoderma reesei, for the already permitted enzyme, xylanase.

Application A1229– Carboxypeptidase from GM Aspergillus oryzae as a processing aid (enzyme): Carboxypeptidase from GM Aspergillus oryzae as a processing aid (enzyme).

FSANZ invites written submissions on the Assessment of the following Application by 6pm (Canberra time) 10 November 2022
General procedure
- Application A1252 – Glucoamylase from GM Aspergillus niger (gene donor: Penicillium oxalicum) as a processing aid: To seek permission for glucoamylase from a genetically modified strain of Aspergillus niger containing the glucoamylase gene from Penicillium oxalicum, as a processing aid in baking processes, brewing processes and starch processing.

Approval and Food Ministers' Meeting notification
FSANZ has approved variations arising from the following Applications and Proposals. FSANZ has notified these approvals to the Food Ministers' Meeting:
- A1239 Food derived from EPA+DHA & herbicide tolerant canola line LBFLFK
- A1240 Polygalacturonase enzyme from GM Aspergillus oryzae
- A1241 Pectin esterase enzyme from GM Aspergillus oryzae
- A1246 Phospholipase A1 from Aspergillus oryzae
- A1248 Glucoamylase from GM Aspergillus niger
- P1053 Food Safety Management Tools
Once FSANZ has notified the Food Ministers' Meeting of its decision, it has 60 days to either request FSANZ to review the approved standard or inform FSANZ that it does not intend to request a review. Further information on the process is available at FSANZ website.
