APS Census Results 2025
The Australian Public Service (APS) Employee Census is an annual survey that gathers insights into how employees perceive the APS, their agency and their workplace. It helps APS agencies identify and target strategies to build and enhance capability and culture in the workplace. The 2025 APS Census results for Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) can be found below.
We’re pleased to report another excellent response to the Census, with 91% of staff participating. This demonstrates a high level of employee engagement and provides robust and representative data to support development of the mandated agency action plan.
Our 2025 results indicate our 2024 Census Action Plan was successfully implemented and supported across the agency. We maintained gains made in 2024, recording consistent headline scores in all 6 of the Census index areas – Employee engagement, Leadership (Immediate supervisor and SES manager), Communication and change, Enabling innovation and Wellbeing. We also scored above the APS average in 5 of these areas, with Enabling innovation just 2 points below the average. These results are testament to the hard work and dedication put in across the agency to deliver our vital remit and make FSANZ a great place to work.
The Census results aid us in recognising areas of excellence, identifying opportunities for further development, and tracking our progress on organisational strategies, initiatives and workplace culture. We will work collaboratively to identify key focus areas for the current financial year, building on the strong progress made to date. Our action plan will be published here once finalised.
