Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) is seeking information and evidence to help guide important work on front and back-of-pack nutrition labelling.
As requested by Australian and New Zealand food ministers, FSANZ is undertaking:
- preparatory work to inform future decision-making on mandating the Health Star Rating (HSR) system
- a holistic review of the nutrition information panel (NIP).
This early-stage call for information is your chance to shape FSANZ’s work on the HSR system and NIP review. We welcome information and evidence on how these labelling elements work for consumers, industry and enforcement, as well as any challenges or areas for improvement.
To have your say, visit the FSANZ Consultation Hub, where a survey response form is available to guide your submission. Submissions close at 6pm (AEDT) on 17 January 2025.
What happens to my feedback?
All information and evidence gathered will be considered in FSANZ’s review, with a summary report to be published on our website in early 2025.
