FSANZ has completed an administrative assessment and accepted the following application. Assessment has now commenced. An opportunity to comment will be available at a later date which will be publicly notified.

- Application A1284 – Triacylglycerol lipase from GM Trichoderma reesei as a processing aid: This application seeks permission for triacylglycerol lipase from a genetically modified strain of Trichoderma reesei to be used as a processing aid in baking and cereal-based processes.

- Application A1254 – Rosemary extract as a food additive – extension of use: To extend the uses of Rosemary Extract (E392) as a food additive (antioxidant) to other food classes.

- Application A1273 – Steviol glycosides as a food additive in Food for special medical purposes: To amend the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code to permit steviol glycosides to be used as a food additive (intense sweetener) in Food for special medical purposes.

FSANZ has approved a variation arising from the following proposal. FSANZ has notified this approval to the Food Ministers’ Meeting:
Once FSANZ has notified the Food Ministers’ Meeting of its decision, it has 60 days to either request FSANZ to review the approved standard or inform FSANZ that it does not intend to request a review. Further information on the process is available at FSANZ website.
