Binational Food Industry Dialogue
Binational Food Industry Dialogue The Binational Food Industry Dialogue (BFID) provides an opportunity for FSANZ to engage in ongoing dialogue with retailers, manufacturers and peak bodies. The objective is to improve information sharing on common issues of interest, provide industry perspectives on prospective areas of standards management, enhance industry understanding of FSANZ processes, and share information and collaborate on matters arising from significant food incidents. Food law, treaties and agreements
Food law, treaties and agreements Food Standards Australia New Zealand is a statutory authority operating under the Food Standards Australia New Zealand Act 1991. The Act sets out the functions of FSANZ, including the development of food standards. Under an inter-Governmental Agreement (1991) between the Commonwealth and states and territories, the states and territories adopt, without variation, food standards once they have been gazetted. Gazettal occurs after FSANZ decisions on standards are considered by the Australia and New Zealand Ministerial Forum on Food Regulation. Ministers can ask FSANZ to review its decisions. Read more…

IPS Agency Plan
IPS Agency Plan In accordance with section 8(1) of the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (the FOI Act), Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) has prepared an Information Publication Scheme (IPS) Agency Plan. Purpose This plan will:
- help FSANZ plan and develop its contribution to the IPS
- detail what information will be published and how, and how FSANZ will comply with the IPS.
- effectively and efficiently manage any information relevant to the IPS
- identify all information that has to be published under the IPS and any additional information that can appropriately be published as its 'optional information'
