2018 Food composition analytical program Background In 2018 FSANZ undertook an analytical program to update and expand our food composition data holdings. Thirty-six foods were selected for nutrient analysis for which we hold no data, or the data we do hold is out-dated and may no longer reflect the products available for consumption. The complete list of foods selected for analysis is available below. The nutrients selected to be analysed differed for each food depending on what data was available, the quality of the data, and whether the nutrient was likely to be present in the food. Sixteen foods were selected for nutrient analysis for which we hold no data, or the data we do hold is out-dated and may no longer reflect the products available for consumption. The nutrients selected to be analysed differed for each food depending on what data was available, the quality of the data, and whether the nutrient was likely to be present in the food. Sampling Eight samples were purchased for each food. The foods were sampled across Victoria and the Australian Capital Territory (ACT). 2019 Game meats analytical program Background  In 2019 FSANZ undertook a small analytical program to update and expand our food composition data holdings for selected game meats. Four meats were selected for analysis of nutrients for which we hold no data, or the data we do hold is out-dated and may no longer reflect the products available for consumption. National Nutrition and Physical Activity Survey analytical program In 2019, FSANZ undertook an analytical program commissioned by the Australian Bureau of Statistics to improve and expand the nutrient dataset to support the upcoming 2023 National Nutrition and Physical Activity Survey (NNPAS). Twenty-nine foods were selected for nutrient analysis based on whether:

• they were new to the market and no nutrient composition data was available
• they were commonly consumed in the previous national nutrition survey
• they were likely to contribute significantly to population nutrient intakes

Australian Health Survey

Australian Health Survey (November 2013) The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), in consultation with the Department of Health, conducted the Australian Health Survey 2011-13 (AHS). Around 13,000 people participated in the National Nutrition and Physical Activity Survey (NNPAS) component of the AHS. FSANZ is working with the ABS to prepare nutrient databases for the foods and supplements reported to be consumed in the NNPAS. These databases are used to estimate the nutrient intakes of the survey respondents. A similar exercise will be undertaken for the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Nutrition and Physical Activity Survey.
